At Shaker Clinic, we utilize our various strengths to provide our patients with quality programs in a compassionate environment. Through our programs, we strive to help our patients be able to maintain their independence and avoid any hospitalization. Our clinic provides evaluation, as well as treatment, to adults who are struggling with mood disturbances or other psychiatric conditions, but who do not require the intensive treatment offered in an inpatient setting. Diagnostic evaluations, psychotherapy, and pharmacotherapy are all services that we are proud to offer our patients.
All treatment programs are led by Master’s level social workers and clinical counselors, and our staff psychiatrists have extended experience in the field of pharmacology. Through each one of our programs, that staff at Shaker Clinic are dedicated to helping each patient return to daily life with improved coping skills, conflict resolution skills, and improved self-esteem. Below are the services that we offer onsite here at Shaker Clinic:
Mental Health Assessments
A mental health assessment is a clinical evaluation administered by a psychiatrist and/or a therapist either at specified times or in response to treatment, or when significant changes occur. It is a process of gathering information to assess patient needs and functioning in order to determine appropriate service or treatment based upon identification of the presenting problem, evaluation of mental status, and formulation of a diagnostic impression.
Behavioral Health Counseling and Therapy
Our behavioral health counseling and therapy consists of an interaction with a patient, in which the focus is on the treatment of the patient’s mental illness or emotional disturbance. The intended outcome is improved functioning and the interaction may also include family members or a guardian, as laid out in the individualized service plan. This service consists of a series of time-limited, structured sessions that work toward attainment of mutually defined goals. Counseling and therapy sessions primarily use a cognitive behavioral approach and can be implemented in individual, group, or even family sessions when needed.
The medication management service is a psychiatric/mental health/medical intervention used to reduce and stabilize and/or eliminate psychiatric symptoms with the goal of improved functioning, including the management and reduction of symptoms.
