At BCA Shaker Heights, our Shooting Stars program is dedicated to understanding the needs of young children and pre-teens. It is a time of transition and growth, and sometimes, turmoil. The youth of today face many challenges, and even young children are experiencing emotions for which there are no clear answers.
Whether you are a parent, a care provider, or a friend, sometimes professional help is necessary to guide our loved ones through difficult times.
Our Shooting Stars program focuses on the emotional and behavioral needs of children from the ages of 5-12. In an inpatient setting, our physicians, therapists, and caring team of staff members, work with your loved one to achieve the best possible results.
Our goal is to help our community members in every way we can.
Our treatment team focuses on the individual’s needs, and with family involvement and goal setting, we firmly believe that the child or pre-teen will return to their daily lives with improved coping skills, conflict resolution techniques, and improved self esteem.
Below are some signs for concern, but there are many that can be overlooked by the untrained eye.

- Preoccupatuion with death
- Behavioral problems
- Withdrawl from loved one’s and friends
